Private residence in Krioneri

The residence of 190 sq.m. total area is located in a unique natural environment in Krioneri facing  a nearby stream. The building is based higher than the street level, ensuring privacy, making the home prominent, but also providing an unobstructed view to the lush surrounding vegetation. The house is divided in 3 levels; the ground floor which is consisted of an open plan living area, with wide openings leading to the semi-outdoor spaces and the garden, the first floor which has the spaces of repose, with each bedroom having its own outdoor expansion, and the attic on the top level serving as the owners’ office and as the guest room.
The most characteristic feature of the dwelling is the trapezoidal solid of the last two levels. The volume that protrudes from the ground floor level not only creates the pleasant semi-outdoor spaces but also adds to the dynamic shape of the building.  At the same time, the triangular openings of the balconies’ walls offer views to the side, and result to a unique morphology.
The composition is complemented by the contrast between the dark gray ground floor and the lifted white trapezoidal volume of the other two levels with its wood paneled interior, further highlighting the distinctive shape of the residence.
